Who We Are

BRIPAN (Formerly known as Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria “IPAN”) was incorporated on 17th June 1994 under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 1990 as a company limited by guarantee.
Our association has the status of a Recognized Professional Body in the field of insolvency in Sections 705 to 707 of CAMA 2020 dealing with regulation of Insolvency Professionals. Members of BRIPAN are registered members of INSOL International – a world-wide federation of National Association of turnaround and insolvency specialists.

Our Main Objectives

Promote Standard Performance

To improve the standards of performance and discharge of all those functions, powers and duties which are attached or incidental to the offices or position of liquidation administrator, trustees and receivers and any other similar offices and positions concerning the assets, liabilities or affairs of any individuals, corporations, or other persons or bodies of person (such offices and positions being hereinafter collectively referred to as Insolvency Administration.

Promote Insolvency Practice

To promote and develop Insolvency Practice as a distinct area of Professional Law and Accountancy Practice and to advance the theory and practice of insolvency administration in all its aspects.

Promoting High Standard

To promote and maintain high standards of practice and professional conduct amongst persons holding insolvency administration offices or who are otherwise engaged in insolvency administration.

Education and Learning

To develop a body of person who are skilled and experienced in insolvency administration and to promote and effect the training and education of persons who wish to attain skill and experience in insolvency administration.

Views and Opinion Facilitation

To facilitate the exchange of views and opinions, to promote a better understanding of and to inform public and professional opinion on the subject of insolvency administration and the problems connected therewith.

Cooperation and Collaboration

To cooperate with similar organizations in Nigeria and abroad in facilitating the exchange of information relating to and opinions on insolvency administration.

Awareness

To create deeper awareness of the importance of the practice of insolvency and the relevance of the insolvency practitioner in the Nigerian socio-economic setting.
