Our Achievement
Some past and recent activities include:
Drafting of a unified insolvency Bill which was considered under the Jonathan Administration by the Nigerian Government.
Harmonising the various interest groups in Nigeria to ensure that we have a workable Unified Insolvency Law in the future.
BRIPAN in partnership with INSOL International and World Bank Group established the Africa Round-table initiative to elevate insolvency reform in Africa. The first meeting was convened on September 30, 2010 in Abuja, Nigeria.
Beyond Nigeria, BRIPAN enjoys observer status at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Group V Sessions where cross border proposal on insolvency Laws are reviewed, reforms are discussed and Model Laws are produced.
To impact legislative reform by evaluating and focusing attention on the development of the Nigerian law in the areas of bankruptcy, receivership and liquidations, business restructuring and turn around management
BRIPAN was recognised in the CAMA 2020 Act as one of the professional bodies that grants qualification to Ips.
We worked with various arms of government and professional organisations such as Corporate Affairs Commission, the NBA SBL, the Presidential Enabling Business Environments Council on reforms of laws touching on insolvency and credit transactions. this coalesced into the reforms done by CAC on CAMA BRIPAN also make presentation at the National Assembly.
